The main purpose of sports massage therapy is to help alleviate the stress and tension which builds up in the body’s soft tissues during physical activity.
Sports massage is not only a great asset to an athlete. If you sit or stand at a workstation for long periods, little niggles, aches, pains or general stiffness of back/shoulders/neck can develop and if left alone for long periods can become something more serious.
When used regularly, massage can increase the blood flow that is needed for recovery. It will improve the range of motion and strength of injured muscles whilst accelerating their healing process.
Sports massage can help maintain general well being and reduce stress, stretch and relax tight muscles and flush out toxins that cause muscle soreness/stiffness.
